Gutter cleaning removes that material and helps restore usable space inside the system. Most gutters are cleaned by hand so I can see what is actually inside them and remove the debris in a controlled way.
If the gutters have been neglected and the material has turned into packed debris or sludge, water may be needed to finish clearing the gutter channel or downspout opening.

Flushout When Needed
Packed or decomposed material may need water to help clear the gutter channel and the opening into the downspout.
Downspout Flow Check
Above-ground downspouts are checked or flushed as needed to help confirm water can move through the visible system. Underground drain lines are not included unless specifically discussed.
Cleanup After Service
Removed material is collected and bagged on site as needed. Bagged debris is placed in your trash bin or another approved location on the property, and the affected work area is cleaned up before I leave.

Common Questions.
Every gutter system is a little different. These are some of the questions homeowners most often ask before scheduling.
How do you clean gutters?
Hand removal is my standard cleaning method. If the gutters contain packed or decomposed material, water may be needed to finish clearing the gutter channel or downspout opening. Some light late-season maintenance cleanouts may also be handled differently when conditions allow.
Do you flush downspouts?
Above-ground downspouts are checked or flushed as needed to help confirm that water can move through the visible gutter and downspout system.
Do you clear underground downspout drains?
No. Underground drain lines are not included with standard gutter cleaning. The service applies to the visible gutter and above-ground downspout system.
What happens to the debris you remove?
Removed debris is collected and bagged as needed. Bagged gutter debris is placed in your trash bin or another approved location on the property. Offsite debris hauling is not included.
Do you clean the outside of the gutters?
Standard gutter cleaning focuses on the debris inside the gutter system. Exterior staining, tiger striping, oxidation and other discoloration are separate from a normal cleanout.
Can you fix a loose gutter while you are there?
Some minor repairs may be possible depending on the gutter system and condition. This can include re-securing a loose section, adding a suitable hanger or resealing certain seams or end caps. I’ll discuss any additional work with you first.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
It depends on the property. Homes surrounded by mature trees often need attention more frequently than homes with little tree coverage. The amount and type of debris around your home matter more than a fixed schedule.
Do you clean gutters on two-story homes?
Many one- and two-story residential gutter systems are within my normal service range. Height, ladder placement and safe access still need to be reviewed for each property.
Do gutter guards eliminate gutter cleaning?
No. Gutter guards can reduce the amount of material entering the gutter, but leaves, needles and other debris can still collect on top of the guards or in roof valleys. Periodic inspection can still be useful.
Do I need to be home during gutter cleaning?
Usually not. As long as the property is accessible and any preparation instructions have been completed, most gutter-cleaning projects can be completed while you are away.
