I use a water-fed pole and purified water from my 4-stage RO-DI (reverse osmosis/deionized) system to clean normal exterior dirt, pollen and environmental buildup from the outside glass. In plain words, it filters the minerals out of the water, so the glass dries spot-free. Baked-on minerals from neglected windows or past sprinkler overspray won’t come off with a maintenance clean, since that takes window restoration.
It isn’t traditional window cleaning, but it’s great for general buildup and routine upkeep.
Why I don’t remove screens: most screens have to be taken out from inside the home, and they bend or break easily when handled from the outside. That’s why I ask homeowners to remove them before I arrive. If a few get missed, I’ll rinse through the screen as best I can, but the glass behind it won’t get a full scrub. How I count windows: I count by panes of glass, which helps me give you the most accurate quote. A standard double-hung window is 2 panes (top and bottom), a sliding window is 2, a single picture window is 1, and a patio door is usually 2. Your quote shows one simple price for the job.

Why should I hire you?

For windows, I clean the exterior glass myself with a water-fed pole and purified water.
How do I get ready for window cleaning?
Remove the exterior screens before I arrive. Most screens have to come out from inside the home, and they bend or break easily from outside, so I don’t remove them. If a few get missed, I’ll rinse through the screen as best I can, but the glass behind it won’t get a full scrub.

How do you clean the exterior glass?

What’s included, and what isn’t?
I clean the exterior glass only, as an add-on to a house wash. I don’t clean interior windows or storm windows. Screen cleaning is an optional add-on during exterior window cleaning, priced per screen. Just remove your screens and stack them outside the garage before I arrive. Paint, adhesive, construction debris and baked-on minerals from neglected windows or sprinkler overspray need restoration, not a maintenance clean. The tiny black dots on glass are most likely artillery fungus, which regular cleaning usually won’t remove.
Can you clean second-story windows?
Yes, many first- and second-story exterior windows can be reached using the water-fed-pole system. Safe access and the layout of the property are still considered for each project.
Why add window cleaning to a house wash?
A house wash cleans the siding and exterior surfaces around the windows and rinses the glass, but that rinse isn’t spot-free. For most homes I recommend an exterior window wash right after, so the whole exterior finishes evenly clean. Adding windows to a house wash comes with bundle pricing.
